During my college years, my friends and I started a beautiful tradition of spending Valentine's Day together. We started in the dorms of East Lansing and then migrated the tradition to Metro Detroit when we became "grown-ups" with houses. The past two years, we packed up our bags to visit Mel and Elizabeth, who moved to the quiet little town of Coshocton, Ohio.
We woke up Valentine's Day morning to eggs benedict, scrumptious blueberry muffins, and fresh fruit! I was really excited to capture this sweet moment of Mel giving his lovely wife a Valentine's Day gift. Precious? Precious.
During the day, the boys ran around town gathering all the ingredients and preparing the meal for the Valentine's Day dinner. And what did the ladies do? We got our nails done, got coffee and caught up on life. Pretty awesome! When dinner was finally ready, we started with some fancy signature drinks that Michal made, served right to us! Next came the appetizer- a meat sushi. The middle picture says it all I think. And they topped it with steak hearts for an entree. Yes, that's more bacon on top of the steak!
Dinner was by far my favorite part of the night. Has anyone heard of Galentine's Day? Watch the Parks and Recreation episode and you'll see how awesome of an idea it is.
We spent the next morning relaxing, eating leftovers and enjoying each other's company along with this sweet kitten, Winston.
I love these too so very much! Elizabeth and Mel are two of the the friendliest people I know. I love how we can pick up our friendship right where we left off after months of not seeing each other.
I feel so blessed to call Agnes and Michal family. This couple inspires me with their adventurous zest for life through food, friends, family and travel. I know God will continue to bless them as they plan their next adventure in South Korea.
The whole gang minus a few missing people! They were there in spirit- and facetime :)
